ICE
Ireland for Cambodian Education (ICE) are core fundraising partners for the Happy School. Members of ICE have been supporting the Happy School since its beginnings and have played a crucial and ongoing role in many program and development initiatives. Generally, ACE provides management support while the members of ICE consistently and tirelessly deliver up to half of our yearly operational funding.
World Education Australia WEAL and World Education Cambodia WEC
World Education, both in Cambodia and Australia, provided invaluable technical support to The Happy School for a 3 year period from 2007 to 2010. This included direct project support and training for Happy School staff and project management support and oversight in Australia.
ACE and World Education partnered in the “Happy School Support Project,” which covered the core operation of The Happy School. ACE provided operational and management support to The Happy School, World Education in Cambodia provided technical support and WEAL (World Education Australia) conducted project management. The partnership was hugely beneficial and resulted in such achievements as the improvement of the quality of education delivered at the school; increased provision of classes; increased student wellbeing and paving the way for further education and employment opportunities for the students; and the creation of a local NGO with its own Board of Directors to provide sustainable governance of the Happy School
World Education supports amazing development work around the world and ACE is very grateful for and excited about the current and future benefits for the Happy School children from this partnership. In particular ACE would like to thank Mark Kowalski, Kong Sonthara, Shane Nichols, Guy Winship, Lucy Gray (now an ACE committee member) and Vic Tooth for their superb efforts over the course of the project.
